Please read these Terms of Use (“Terms”) carefully before using the Amithos Shield browser extension, website, or any related services (collectively, the “Service”) operated by Amithos (“we”, “us”, or “our”).

By accessing or using the Service you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Amithos. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.

2. Description of Service

Amithos Shield is an AI data-protection layer that identifies sensitive information in text before it is submitted to third-party AI tools (such as ChatGPT or Microsoft Copilot), replaces it with safe placeholders, and restores the original values in the AI’s response. The Service does not store, transmit, or process sensitive data on Amithos servers.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract to use the Service. The Service is intended for business use and is not directed at consumers for personal or household purposes.

4. User Accounts

Certain features of the Service may require you to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify us immediately at team@amithos.com of any unauthorised access or security breach.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable regulations;
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service;
  • Circumvent, disable, or interfere with security features of the Service;
  • Use automated scripts or bots to access the Service in a manner that places excessive load on our infrastructure;
  • Misrepresent your identity or affiliation when using the Service;
  • Use the Service to transmit malware, spam, or other harmful content.

6. Intellectual Property

All content, trademarks, software, and technology comprising the Service are the exclusive property of Amithos or its licensors. These Terms do not grant you any right, title, or interest in the Service beyond the limited license to use it as described herein. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the Service without our prior written consent.

7. Your Content

You retain ownership of any data or content you process through the Service. You grant Amithos a limited, non-exclusive license to process that content solely to the extent necessary to provide the Service to you. We do not use your content to train AI models or share it with third parties except as required to deliver the Service.

8. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the Service, you consent to the data practices described in the Privacy Policy.

9. Third-Party Services

The Service interoperates with third-party AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot). Amithos is not responsible for the practices, content, or availability of those third-party services. Your use of them is subject to their own terms and privacy policies.

10. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Amithos does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Amithos and its officers, employees, partners, and licensors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, arising out of your use of or inability to use the Service. In no event shall our total liability to you for all claims exceed the amount paid by you to Amithos in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Amithos and its affiliates, officers, agents, and employees from any claim, liability, damage, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of any third-party rights.

13. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, Amithos, or third parties. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. If a change is material, we will provide reasonable notice (for example by email to the address associated with your account). Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of competent jurisdiction.
